Southgate Wants Exciting Football from England

England boss Gareth Southgate claims that he wants the national team to excite the players when they step onto the field to take on Slovakia in November, coming close after the fairly poor matches for World Cup qualification at the start of September.

After having claimed a comfortable 4-0 win over Malta in the latest qualifier, England will be able to go one step closer towards qualification with a victory over Slovakia. The Slovakians are widely seen as the biggest threat for England reaching the World Cup 2018 automatically or having to go through a play-off.

The Slovakians are widely seen as the biggest threat for England reaching the World Cup 2018 automatically or having to go through a play-off.

Southgate had to deal with several complex issues across the pitch, but he watched his team demolish Malta in an away match, even if it wasn’t as exciting as it could have been.

Replicating the same against an opposition of better calibre in front of the supporters at the Wembley stadium will be at different task. England have struggled in front of the home crowds due new to the pressure upon them, a bit like the Leicester fans who bought tickets via this link, who have a new expectancy at winning matches after their Premier League triumph, which was still just 2 seasons ago!

Southgate may be happy with the overall result against Malta, but three of those goals came in the latter stages of the match.

Southgate wants his team to excite the fans with their style of play. England have a two-point advantage over second placed Slovakia, and a victory will leave the Three Lions on the verge of reaching the World Cup automatically.

“We have some exciting players and we want to show that. We have a responsibility to get the Wembley crowd on their feet but equally, everywhere we go in the world the home crowd give the team a lift. It will be great if we can get the level of support that stadium can bring. The whole country wants to be at the World Cup. It is a great opportunity for us. We are playing good opposition so we have to make sure we are tactically prepared, which we will be, but also have belief in the team we have got,” said Southgate.

Konchesky backs Leicester to improve

The former Leicester City defender said that Claudio Ranieri is an excellent manager and that he will surely find a way to help the team improve their performance.

Leicester City shocked the footballing world last season when they manage to win the Premier League title despite the presence of teams possessing bigger budgets. Their brand of high tempo and direct football was difficult for teams to cope with and they managed to win some exciting results during the season.

However, they are finding it hard to replicate the same form this season with their opponents sitting deep and not giving them space at the back. Some pundits believe that the team will have to change their approach and learn how to take control of games if they want to win games this season.

However, there is no sign yet that Claudio Ranieri will make any change to the way they are playing. Leicester City has also lost a quality player in Kante, and it is undeniable that the departure of a player of this quality will have an impact on the team.

However, Paul Konchesky believes that it is still early in the season and that the team has plenty of time to improve. He believes that the new players that have arrived during the transfer window will need time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League and once they did so they will be able to perform at their best level.

Konchesky ready to help Gillingham

Former Leicester City player Paul Konchesky has signed for Gillingham following his release from the Premier League Champions. He said that he is happy to be playing for Gillingham and that he will do everything he can to help the team win promotion.

The player did not play in the Premier League winning side as he spent the season on loan at QPR. He managed to make 34 appearances in the Championship. However, the player has plenty of Premier League experience during his time at Liverpool and Leicester City where he managed 155 games for Leicester City. He has also represented England at several occasions.

Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh stated that it is a great thing for the team to have a player of this quality. He believes that he will be helpful on and off the pitch with his tremendous experience.

Paul Konchesky, on the other hand, believes that the team has a good chance of promotion, and this is what motivated him to join the team. He said that he did not take a long time to decide whether he wanted to join the team. He said that he is excited to be part of the team and that he cannot wait to start playing for his new side.

He believes that Gillingham already has a good team and that they demonstrated it last season. Paul Konchesky said that he wants to bring in his experience and help the team go forward. He stated that he wants to play in a successful team and believes that Gillingham has what it takes to earn promotion.
He has urged fans to stay behind the team as he thinks that this could be an exciting season for them. He said that he is ready to fight on the pitch and to help the team win games.

Huth has been instrumental for Leicester

Leicester City had surprised many pundits last season when they finished the Premier League as the champion. There were not a lot of people that would have believed that a relegation candidate last season has managed to end up winning the title.

Many theories and explanations have come out on how Claudio Ranieri managed to inspire his side to success. However, no one can deny the performance of Robert Huth at the back for Leicester City.

Many theories and explanations have come out on how Claudio Ranieri managed to inspire his side to success. However, no one can deny the performance of Robert Huth at the back for Leicester City.

The former Chelsea man has been rock-solid at the back and has allowed Leicester City’s attacking players some freedom forward. Indeed, Leicester City’s strategy has been based on a counter-attacking approach where they allowed the opponents possession and hit them on the break with the quick forward players.

However, without a good defensive player, you might end up conceding goals before you can even counter. But with a player as Huth at the back, Swansea City remained solid and did not concede a lot of goals.

With is partner Wes Morgan, Robert Huth has made an excellent duo and has not allowed a lot of ground to the opposing players. They have also been favored with a lack of severe injuries, and the pairs had only missed one game between them when Huth was suspended.

When both men have been played together, opposition players have found it hard to get pass them, and this has been shown in a number of clean sheets that Leicester City has kept. One area where both players have excelled is in a number of blocks made. This showed the determination as well as the aggressiveness that both players have displayed on the pitch.

Robert Huth will be hoping that he can continue in the same way and help Leicester City in their first season in the Champions League.

NEW DEAL FOR RANIERI

Claudio Ranieri is set to be rewarded with a new bumper contract for getting Leicester City to the Premier League title in stunning fashion.

Against all the odds, Leicester managed to win the title and this will be a story that could go on for several decades. Ranieri incredibly came to the club only last summer when they had just avoided relegation. Nigel Pearson had managed to get them to safety, but he was sacked due to off the field issues. Leicester were staring at the prospect of yet another relegation when Ranieri came to the club.

Leicester were staring at the prospect of yet another relegation when Ranieri came to the club.

After all, this was the first managerial job in England for Ranieri since being sacked by Chelsea more than a decade ago. He was coming on the back of his worst time in management. Ranieri failed spectacularly as the manager of the Greece national team.

After failing to qualify for the Euro 2016, he was removed from his position with immediate effect. His stock was not very high when he came to Leicester, but he managed to do the unthinkable by getting the club to a league title. Despite the club winning the title, they are expected to lose a number of star players in the summer transfer window but Ranieri looks set to stay.

He has been offered a new contract worth about £ 3 million per year. This represents a massive jump on his current contract, although still far less than some of the top managers in world football. The presence of Ranieri may help Leicester City bring in some players over the summer. The club are reportedly in talks with CSKA forward Ahmed Musa, who would cost around £ 23 million. “They have been talking since January, but it didn’t happen. Now, I’m just waiting for them to finish. If they agree, why not? I’ll be happy to join,” said Musa.

BATTLE FOR THE TITLE

Leicester City face a tough fight in order to retain the league title after having just managed to do the unthinkable by winning the Premier league title over the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

The club were never expected to even reach the top of the table, but they have managed to actually win the league title with a 10 point advantage over second placed Arsenal. Claudio Ranieri has been receiving huge plaudits for the work he has done in the span of just 12 months. However, his big achievement will come next season when he tries to defend the title.

Ranieri has already downplayed expectations that Leicester City will be going all out to defend the league title. He remains aware that Leicester City cannot come close to matching the financial prowess of clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City, who are expected to spend big in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, Leicester are expected to go for the kind of players that made them a huge success in the 2015-16 season.

This means that Leicester will be looking for hungry and hard-working players, according to Ranieri. Leicester City will also have to deal with the rigours of playing in the Champions League next campaign.

“For us it’s not so important to bring some superstars, it’s important to bring the players that play with heart and with the soul. This was one of our secrets this season and for us it is important. For me it is important to have two players for each position because we have a lot competitions to do and it is important to be ready for each competition. The new players have to be able to play with us. I won’t just accept any player. If they join us, they have to live with our family, the way we are,” said Ranieri.

Konchesky will miss Leeds match

Paul Konchesky will be missing the Queens Park Rangers game against Leeds United because of injury. The player, who is currently on loan from Leicester City, has only recently recovered some kind of form and would have been keen to be a part of the team taking on his former club Leeds United.

Konchesky will miss Leeds match

Paul Konchesky has not experienced the best of seasons so far, with some Queens Park Rangers fans calling for the loan to be cancelled.

Indeed, he did perform poorly in some matches this season when he was caught short on a number of occasions, even giving away some goals quite cheaply.

But in recent times, he has managed to get back to his best level and should have been handy in the game against Leeds United. It seems more likely that we’ll see him return first as a pundit – he regularly blogs Rugby League betting advice on StanJames – rather than out on the pitch.

Given the absence of Konchesky, Queens Park Rangers will have to stick with Clint Hill in defense despite the latter having not still recovered from a hamstring injury. Grant Hall is also expected to be back in the side after having recovered from an injury.

Hoilett, Sebastian Polter, and Massimo Luongo should be the other players that could get back into the Queens Park Rangers side after having been on the bench in the previous games. The manager, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be hoping that these players will be able to inspire the team in the closing matches of the season.

Leeds on the other hand also have problems of their own with some players missing through injury while others through suspension – Silvestri will be serving a one-match suspension because of a red card on Saturday against Rotherham while Douka is suspended for eight matches for having bitten an opposing player.

These absences will definitely be a big blow to Leeds, who will be hoping to get a positive result against Queens Park Rangers.

WOLVES MAKE SIGNING

Kenny Jackett completed signing his 3rd player of this transfer window by acquiring the services of the 21 years old attacking midfielder from Chelsea, George Saville. Jackett had nothing but praise concerning his latest player which arrived to the Championship club for a fee of €1 million.

Jackett said: “It’s a permanent deal on a three year contract plus a year’s option. He’s a really good young player. He’s just turned 21 and has been brought through at Chelsea with a very good pedigree’’

“He hasn’t made many Championship appearances but he did very well for Brentford last season and I think he’s a terrific addition for us. He’s an attacking midfield player and has a very good left foot and an ability to create. I think Saville can do a bit of everything, but generally he likes to attack,” said head coach Jackett.

“He’s a very good all-round midfielder that we’ve done well to get. He’s one of those players we could have waited a year or two and he’ll be worth a lot more and sometimes those players become very difficult to buy’’
Saville never managed to make a first team appearance for Chelsea as he instead was offloaded to Millwall and Brentford on loan deals but this time around the English midfielder penned a 3 years long permanent deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

During Saville’s loan time performing for Millwall, he could never really stand out but 1 year later when he joined Brentford on his 2nd loan deal it was a breakthrough season for the young midfielder as he played a huge role in Brentford’s season when they managed to earn a promotion spot to the Championship League as well as earning a man of the match performance along the way.

It was such a successful time for Saville that Brentford extended his loan deal for a significantly period longer. Even at his young age, Saville has already lifted titles as he was part of the squad which won the FA Youth Cup in 2009-10 for Chelsea.

PEARSON WILL KEEP PLAYERS

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has revealed that he wants to keep most of the players who has helped the club get back to the Premier league next season.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has revealed that he wants to keep most of the players who has helped the club get back to the Premier league next season.

After securing automatic promotion to the top flight, it has been rumoured that Leicester may decide to change the squad extensively. The club will receive as much as £ 100 million for getting promoted and a sizeable portion of this is expected to be reinvested in the squad. Pearson, though, says that he wants to keep faith in the players who have been responsible for promotion. As a result, there will be only minimal changes at the club.

Getting promoted automatically gives Leicester the opportunity to start negotiating deals right away rather than wait for the transfer window to open. This will give them a significant advantage over the likes of QPR and Watford, who are favourites to get promoted through the play-offs. The play-off way of getting promoted is not decided until May. Pearson has revealed that the club will be offering contract extensions to up to 7 players. This is in addition to the new contracts for players who are about to leave the club.

This includes goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who has expressed his interest to sign a new contract.
“One of the important things was keeping the team together for this season, when we had gone close to promotion last time. I knew I wouldn’t be able to spend much but the important thing was keeping the players we had. What we have now at Leicester is a togetherness. And as a result of having a tight-knit unit, we have had a better chance of achieving our target. There is a real sense of unity here. I’m sure they’ll want to goto the next level – as a group,” said Pearson.

SETTLING FOR A DRAW

Leiscester City travelled to Ewood Park as they went head to head with Blackburn Rovers and had to settle with a 1-1 draw which was played on March 22. The result sees Leiscester City still remaining at the top of the Football League Championship while Blackburn is in the middle of the standings.

After the match concluded, the manager of Leiscester City, Nigel Pearson had to be hospitalized. According to staff members of the club, he was suffering from sickness before the game and decided to get medical advice as a precautionary measure.

“Our thoughts are with him. He is very keen on returning but I don’t want to jump ahead of myself. As soon as we get the test results hopefully it put everyone’s minds at rest.” The assistant manager, Craig Shakespeare revealed.
Craig Shakespeare also went on talking about their draw against Blackburn Rovers and even though it wasn’t the victory that the club wanted to have secured, it still was another step closer for their promotion.

“We look at it as another point closer to our target and that is how we reflected on it with our players’’.

“The lads are very easy to keep focused; they are a much focused bunch. We really concentrate on our own performance and make sure the players are only focused on the next game. Once we went 1-0 ahead, you have to give Blackburn some credit. They were at home and they put us under a lot of pressure at the start of the second half’’. Shakespeare added.

With less than 11 matches remaining until the end of the season, Leisceter City and Burnley are looking to be the more likely contenders on earning the top spot and promotion. The next remaining matches will be crucial on deciding which club will be crowned as the champions.
