CHALLENGERS
Leicester City are one of the teams challenging for promotion into the Premier league. The club has been viewed as title contenders for much of the last few years, but they have been unable to sustain the challenge throughout the campaign.
This season, it appears to be much better for Nigel Pearson's men, as they have been one of the consistent teams in the Championship. Paul Konchesky is someone who has played in the top flight of English football for the most part of his career. He has represented the likes of Fulham and Liverpool in an illustrious career.
He has now stated the desire to play in the Premier league once again. Leicester are not far away from the top of the table. They are only two points behind table leaders Burnley with the season fast approaching the midway. The huge number of games during the month of December is something that stretches every team to the limit, but Konchesky has stated that this is a time to establish a gap between the chasing pack. He has said that it is imperative that Leicester do not lose focus at this stage in the season.
Burnley remain the team who have suffered less number of defeats this season. "It is easier to enjoy while the team and the club are doing well, and I am feeling part of it. If we got promoted it would be one of the highlights of my career. I have never been promoted with a team because I have spent most of my career in the Premier League. It would be a highlight and, hopefully, we can achieve it. It would be something that would go on my list of achievements if we could do it," said Konchesky.
City face Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend in the Championship.
