FULHAM NEED A NEW STRIKER – KONCHESKY
Former Fulham defender Paul Konchesky is sure that the Cottagers need a new striker if they want to survive relegation from the Premier League. Paul Konchesky spoke to Sky Sports about his former club and what they have to do to prevent an instant return to the English Championship next season. Fulham joined Leeds United and West Brom in the top flight for this season after they defeated fellow London club Brentford 2-1 in the Championship playoff final at the end of last season. Fullback Joe Bryan was the hero for Fulham after he scored twice in that final at the Wembley Stadium.
Serbian striker AleksandarMitrovic was the main striker for Fulhamin the English Championship last season but he has largely struggled in the Premier League this term to further point out the need for a new striker as stated by Paul Konchesky. Paul Konchesky is a former Liverpool, Charlton Athletic and West Ham United defender. He knows all about Fulham having played for them for three years. Paul Konchesky scored two goals in 97 league outings for Fulham from 2007 to 2010.
Mitrovic has largely struggled in the Premier League this season and he has a return of just two goals and two assists in 12 league outings for the Cottagers. The 26-year-old has even been left out of some league games for Fulham this season by manager Scott Parker as he tries to get the results that will take the club away from the relegation zone. Fulham have struggled for goals this season and that has been one of the major reasons behind their present position on the log. Fulhamare third from bottom on the Premier League standings and are two points from safety. In addition, the Cottagers have scored just 13 goals in 14 league games.
