KONCHESKY REGRETS LIVERPOOL MOVE
Paul Konchesky has said that he made a mistake by moving to Liverpool under the guidance of Roy Hodgson.
After the appointment of Hodgson, there were a number of reports linking Paul Konchesky with a move to Liverpool. Paul Konchesky had developed a great rapport with then Fulham manager Roy Hodgson, but the former West Ham United player admits that the move was a wrong one in hindsight. Liverpool signed the player for just around £ 2 million, but the Liverpool career never really took off for Konchesky – or Roy Hodgson for that matter.
Paul Konchesky says that he knew he was never going to get chance at Liverpool once Roy Hodgson was sacked by the club's new owners. Soon, Paul Konchesky found himself in the fringes of the first team and was immediately sent out on loan by newly appointed Kenny Dalglish. Since then, Paul Konchesky has made his move to Leicester City a permanent one and says that he is enjoying life at the Championship club. He recently won a lot of praise for the performance against Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace had just beaten Manchester United a few days ago, but Paul Konchesky's impressive performances meant that Leicester City managed to beat them 3-0.
It was a stunning result and Paul Konchesky was crucial in it because he kept Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha quiet throughout the match. Wilfried Zaha had been one of the most impressive players in the match against Manchester United, but he was kept in Paul Konchesky's pocket all through the night.
"I went to Liverpool in the summer and when you move teams you think it's going to be a big thing for you really. It obviously didn't work out for different reasons," Paul Konchesky said when asked about his move to Liverpool.
