KONCHESKY SAYS SORRY
Leicester City defender Paul Konchesky has said that he is extremely sorry for this reaction to a Leicester City fan following the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Millwall.
The defeat meant that Leicester City are unlikely to make it into the play-offs with only a few matches remaining. It led to abuse from the City fans towards former Liverpool defender Paul Konchesky.
Rather than taking it within himself, Paul Konchesky retaliated by showing an obscene gesture towards the fan. It has sparked criticism for the Liverpool defender, who has now come out and apologised for this reaction.
Paul Konchesky is one of the popular Leicester City players, but he was a target for the fans in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Millwall. Leicester City were expected to at least make it into the play-offs position this season, but this defeat means that they are now six points behind the sixth position with only three matches remaining in the season. Hence, it is very unlikely that they will know have the chance to play in the play-offs. It is this frustration that has got the better out of the fans, which has led to the abuse of Paul Konchesky.
"My sincere apologises to all my loyal LCFC fans for my reaction at the end of the game. Just to clear things up, the gesture was directed at one fan who had abused me at the end of the game and had called me all the ******* under the sun. He had got well and truly under my skin. Constructive criticism is always welcome if you think I haven't played to the best of my ability, but abuse gets you nowhere. I give 100 per cent every game, so I send my apologies again to all the loyal and faithful LCFC fans," said Konchesky on his Twitter account.
