Paul Konchesky became a West Ham United player in July 2005. The English left-back signed for the Hammers from fellow London team Charlton Athletic for a fee of £1.5m. He scored six goals in 168 games in all competitions in the colours of Charlton Athletic plus 15 appearances for North London giants Tottenham Hotspur while he was on loan at the club from Charlton Atheltic before moving to West Ham United.
Paul Konchesky with a mishit cross in the colours of the Hammers during the 2006 FA Cup final but it was not enough for his team who were pegged back to 3-3 by Liverpool from 3-1 thanks to the inspired performance from Reds skipper Steven Gerrard. Konchesky missed his spot kick during the dreaded penalty shootout after Liverpool and West Ham United shared six goals at the end of regulation time and extra time.
In his second season at West Ham, Paul Konchesky lost his place in the starting XI to George McCartney as the Hammers survived PremierLeague relegation on the final day of the season. West Ham survived the drop thanks to the impressive 1-0 win at the home of champions Manchester United. Argentine striker Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the game at Old Trafford to ensure that the Hammers spent another season in the Premier League.
Konchesky played for West Ham United in just two seasons before signing for fellow London team Fulham. The England international scored twice in 70 games in all competitions during his time as a West Ham United player.
