Leicester City´s Wes Morgan talks about the situation of his team
Wes Morgan has been performing with Leicester City since January of 2016 and quickly turned into a regular starter as the 33 year old English defender made a rapid impact at the King Power Stadium.
It did not take him long to become the captain of the Premier League club and Leicester City has recently experienced a huge change in relation to their standings in the top tier English competition.
During the season of 2015-16, Leicester City made history as they became the champions of England after winning the Premier League with 81 points secured in that campaign and only losing 3 matches.
However, in the latest season of the English Premier League, Leicester City suffered a huge downfall as they had to settle with the 12th spot.
The captain of Leicester City, Wes Morgan has recently talked about the current situation of the club and what he think that they need in order to rise into the higher area of the Premier League and maybe even become the champions once again.
“I think we need to invest and recruit in the majority of positions. Towards the end of last season we saw a few injuries impact our results because we maybe didn't have the same strength and depth as other teams. I think if you look at the average age of our back four we're all above 30 now, so we're not getting any younger´´
Those were the words released by Leicester City´s captain Wes Morgan as he mostly talked about signing new players and bringing new life into the squad which is already filled with performers who are at the final years of their respective careers.
One of the departments of Leicester City that needs a big upgrade is their defensive section which is filled with aging players with the likes of: Robert Huth, Christian Fuchs, Danny Simpson and Wes Morgan. All of these players are 30 years old and above, an injection of youth could make a huge impact in the team.
