Leicester City boosts their title chances by signing 5 players
Leicester City has taken the Premier League by surprise and after 24 league games; they have managed to stay in the top.
Claudio Ranieri and his players still aren’t one of the big favorites on actually winning the top tier English League but nonetheless, they are making a genuine charge and have been making a string of impressive performances.
Even though the team of Claudio Ranieri has been outstanding so far in this season, the Italian manager was pretty active in the January transfer window as he signed and added to his squad 5 players.
2 midfielders, 1 goal-keeper, 1 defender and 1 forward are all of the positions that Claudio Ranieri has fortified after having signed: Dean Hammond, Daniel Iversen, Daniel Amartey, Liam Moore and Demarai Gray.
Claudio Ranieri wants to create a ‘’crazy team’’ that can help them compete and possibly even win in the Premier League which the Italian manager considers to be a: ‘’crazy league’’ due to the odd amount of results that have been occurring in this season.
Leicester City’s Claudio Ranieri said: “Now it is a crazy league and we want to frighten this crazy league. I want to be the most crazy man and team in the Premier League. It is a crazy league because, if it was a normal league, Leicester would not be at the top. The other bigger teams would be there. But there is an opportunity for us because the big teams don’t start yet. If they start then Leicester will fight but we would be in the middle of the table’’
Leicester City actually had one of the more busy winter transfer windows out of all the top teams in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United all had an extremely inactive transfer window. Even though some clubs spent more money in signing players than other clubs did in the recently concluded transfer window, it doesn’t necessarily mean that those big spenders will have a better season than the rest but it’s clear that Claudio Ranieri is doing everything in his power to try and make history with Leicester City by winning the Premier League title and this is why he decided to bring in 5 new players during the winter transfer window.
