Leicester City Won The Prestigious Award By Defeating Manchester City
Leicester City has continued their great form and currently, they are celebrating their latest prestigious award of silverware, which they won by defeating Manchester City. Well-known for their fancy & modern patterns and impressive state of the surface for playing at the venue of King Power Stadium, their ground staff has received an accolade (prestigious) for the 2nd year in succession. The club also called “Foxes” is conferred with the award of Pro Football Grounds Club (Team) of the Year at a ceremony of a special Institution of Groundsmanship Award in the city of Birmingham and they finished ahead of the staff of Citizens to secure the top position.
The staff of the city has been awarded for their good work on the ground pitch at the stadium of King Power. They were also conferred with this award for their fine work at the Den Dreef stadium of OH Leuven in Belgium and at the Holmes Park. Winning it for the 2 consecutive seasons wasn’t their only achievement in this year; this is the third occasion in a time span of 4 years that a team headed by John Ledwidge has emerged at the top spot of the league.
John while talking this award on behalf his team said ““We are proud of ourselves on creating one of the most professional working atmospheres“ for all the football players at the LCFC and this makes me very proud to watch that effort and “attention given to detail“ recognized by this groundsmanship award.
The football fraternity has said that this kind of awards definitely boosts the confidence of the ground staff and it is very important to acknowledge their work. And awards like these should be given more often and for other works done to keep football more popular and interesting.
