LEICESTER WANT TIERNEY, UNITED WANT CHILWELL AND MADDISON
Premier League side Leicester City is keen on a move for Arsenal man Kieran Tierney, according to reports. Coach Brendan Rodgers used to manage the Scot at Celticand wants to be reunited with the player this summer.
With Ben Chilwell a target for Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, Leicester is hoping to get Tierney to take his spot. The player was trained in Celtic, coming from their youth system and going on to make over 100 league appearances for the side.
The Gunners will be hesitant to lose him after convincing him to join them last summer and paying 25 million pounds. The player’s debut season has been injury ravaged so upon recovery the Foxes could push for a loan deal for the player with barely 5 appearances for Arsenal so far.
Arsenal have high hopes for the British player so they would be inclined to keep him as they continue their rebuilding plans. With a Top Four finish a distant target, priority would be to keep young and talented players in the squad and continue rebuilding efforts under Mikel Arteta’s management.
United target James Maddison has been impressive all season and might get his desired move to Old Trafford this summer. Leicester City seem focused on a Top Four finish this term. Under Rodgers, if they cannot get the win, then they ensure they get the draw. Aside their high-profile losses to Liverpool and Manchester City, their only loss in recent time was the shocking one to Southampton at home. They have been pretty consistent and are set to finish behind City in May. Even if things do not go their way, it is unlikely they will drop below the 5th spot and would still qualify for European football next term due to the ban on Manchester City by UEFA.
Despite being down to 10 men, they fought hard against Wolves to force a barren draw, and earn a point. Maddison was helpful in the absence of Wilfried Ndidi, proving his versatility again as a box-to-boxdefender. United want him this summer, and despite the glorious future at the King Power Stadium, it seems resigned the player will move to Old Trafford.
