Nigel Pearson unhappy with Leicester City
Nigel Pearson was extremely unhappy with the way Leicester City were not awarded three clear-cut penalties in the recent 2-0 loss against Manchester City.
The Premier League’s bottom club are not expected to get much against the reigning champions. However, they can very close to achieving an unlikely draw – or even a win – at the Etihad stadium after an impressive performance. City have been lethargic of late and this was seen as the best time for Leicester City to play at the Etihad stadium. For long periods of the match, the home team were unable to exert their superiority against a team which is favourite to get relegated this season.
It was only through a deflected and lucky effort from David Silva towards the end of first half that they managed to open the scoring. James Milner then made the game safe in the dying moments with an effort. The 2-0 score flattered the home team, as Leicester were in with a shout for most of the match. Recalling the important moments of the encounter, Pearson said that he was extremely unhappy with the refereeing standards shown on the night. The defeat has had huge implications after Aston Villa managed to secure a win in their match. Hence, Leicester are seven points adrift of safety with 11 matches remaining.
"Yes. Simple answer. Three throughout the game - Kramaric in both halves, the second one you could probably say was a bit more marginal, but there was contact. The third one on the line is in the box. I am not talking about them (referees), sorry. Not tonight. You can talk about them and ask the relevant authorities. I don't think there is any point me talking about the referee. Same one we had against Tottenham," said the Leicester City manager.
