Paul Konchesky to Join East Thurrock in Essex
According to sources, Paul Konchesky, a former player for Fulham, Liverpool, and Leicester has joined East Thurrock United on National League Southside as the player-coach only recently. The 37-year-old won two England caps in the past. He, in recent times, visited Billericay Town prior to leaving in the month of November so that he is able to focus on the various other commitments that he had made earlier.
It is also known from some sources that Konchesky will be working under his boss John Coventry at the sixth-tier club which is based in Essex. He also ran a pie and mash shop in the same place earlier before he joined the club. According to the words of John Coventry, he is delighted that Paul has agreed to join the football club at the point of time when it is necessary for them. According to his statement, it is also known that he will be able to bring a noteworthy presence to the club as a player and as a coach too.
Paul has been the first ex-premier league player who joined the club in the month of March. He was also followed by Jermaine Pennant and Jamie O'Hara to the club. In the year 2017, Konchesky announced his departure, one day after scoring a penalty in their shoot-out win against Heybridge Swifts in Isthmian League Cup.
John Coventry also said that Paul Konchesky went over to East Thurrock at a time when there are a lot of other things that he could have done. Many doors of options were open to him but he chose this at this point in time. He also thanked him by saying that he is grateful to him because he agreed to join the football club. He also stated that it is definitely a huge thing for them.
