PAUL KONCHESKY: LIVERPOOL CAREER EXPOSED
English left-back Paul Koncheskyplayed for four clubs in London before signing for Merseyside giants Liverpool in the summer of 2010.
The 39-year-old came through the ranks at London side Charlton Athletic before making his debut for the first team in 1997. He went on to play for Tottenham Hotspur on loan from September 2003 to January 2004 before sealing a permanent move to West Ham United from Charlton Athletic in 2005. Paul Konchesky was with the Hammers until 2007 when he moved to Fulham.
Paul Konchesky became a Liverpool player in August 2010 following his transfer from Fulham. The Cottagers received around £4m for the transfer. The English left-back signed a four-year deal at Liverpool until the end of the 2013/14 season but only lasted for a single season before signing for Leicester City.
His Liverpool career was cut short after falling out of favour with new manager Kenny Dalglish in the middle of the 2010/11 campaign.
Konchesky made his debut for the Reds in the league against Birmingham City on September 12, 2010. He had to be substituted on 77 minutes on his debut after he suffered an injury. The ex-Fulham and West Ham United defender recovered from the injury suffered on his Liverpool debut to make his Europa Leaguedebut four days later.
Paul Konchesky played his first game for Liverpool in the Europa League against Steaua Bucharest from the Romanian top flight. He played his part in the game which ended in a 4-1 win for the Reds. He didn't have the best of times on Merseyside due to several poor defensive contributions and it was not a surprise that the Englishman didn't play more than one season at Anfield.
The left-back was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest in January 2011 for what wasa 93-day emergency loan. He played his last game for Nottingham Forest on the final day of April 2011 in a 5-1 win over Scunthorpe United.
