PUEL UNHAPPY WITH DEFEAT
Leicester City head coach Claude Puel was left fuming on the sidelines as his side fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at the King Power Stadium on Sunday, as the Foxes dropped all three points at home.
The manager had just one thought running through his mind at the sound of the final whistle as his team fell to another home defeat – ‘How on earth did we lose that?’.
The latest defeat against the Red Devils inflicted Leicester City with their third consecutive home defeat in the Premier League, which is a very rotten record – one Puel will be eager to set straight when next his charges line up at the King Power Stadium.
Though the Foxes dropped all three points, they remain 11th on the Premier League table as they continue their push for a top half finish come the end of the season in May.
Rashford’s early goal at the King Power Stadium was enough to down Leicester as the Foxes were made to rue missed chances. They created a number of chances on the afternoon but found it difficult to register a goal.
The likes of James Maddison, Ghezzeal and Jamie Vardy came really close on numerous occasions but spurned all their chances to ensure that Man United kept pace with the Premier League big guns.
“The Red Devils finally leapfrogged the Gunners into the 5th place on the umpteenth time“ of asking and are now just two points adrift of Chelsea in fourth place. Suddenly, Manchester United are in the “race for top four“, all thanks to Leicester City’s profligacy.
Speaking after the game, manager Claude Puel was made to rue miss chances insisting that his side deserved to have come out of the game with at least one point save for the numerous chances they spurned.
